Your Intrepid Nephews are all back in one place this week to discuss whatever the hell is going on with this team, how the Hockey Hall Of Fame is a joke, and a back half of the episode that veers off the rails pretty quickly. Get some after the jump.
We pay tribute to Tom Petty the only way we know how – talking shit about hockey and recalling Bryan Berard’s ’03-’04 season in this leadoff episode for the upcoming campaign. Links after the jump.
Some stuff happened didn’t it? We talked about all of it despite Slak not being around to offer his own special flavor of commentary. Grab it after the jump.
At long last, games that matter are here. And the four of us go around the league to try to parse out what matchups are going to be worthwhile in both conferences. Spoiler alert: The Leafs series is obviously going to be the most important for the league, the sport itself, and the global economy. Have a listen after the jump.
With the Hawks locked into home ice in the West, we take this episode to address the NHL’s non paricipation in the Olympics, as well as answer a raft of reader questions. Listen after the jump.
On this installment, we discuss whatever the hell it was that happened among the Florida Men, including the fire drill going on with the youth at center. Things then expand outward to the league wide playoff picture, and of course, questions from our adoring public. Listen after the jump.
On this week’s installment the four of us discuss the aftermath of the eastern Canadian swing and fall down the rabbit hole of the Great Sports Concussion Debate, and then proceed to defend a millionaire athlete whom none of us have ever met nor will ever meet. And more depraved listener questions as usual. Audio after the jump.
Well now that we’re all on the same continent, let alone in the same time zone, the four of us discuss the game from Sunday afternoon and what it could portend to (not much), as well as plenty of other topics including some listener questions. Grab the audio after the jump.
As we were recording, there were actual trades going on in the NHL, and Cieslak was somewhere over the Atlantic, as he is being extradited to The Hague for his various war crimes. Sam has escaped from the maw of the Internet Monster to actually be able to engage in the conversation. Of course, by the time this posts, half of what we discussed could be irrelevant, but isn’t that always the case anyway? And the title is interpreted at the reader’s discretion. Audio after the jump.
After the bye week, we return with a very special edition of Live From The Five Hole, as the esteemed Scott Powers of The Athletic joins us and gives some great insight about the current state of the Hawks as the playoff push begins, as well as a great look at some of the prospects coming down the pike. We even subjected him to some of the weirdo questions that we have been fielding lately and he handled himself with predictable style and grace. And it’s a good thing too, as Sam was eaten by the internet monster about a quarter way into the ‘cast (sky point). Grab the audio after the jump.
