After getting to recalibrate the sights against the Coyotes, the Hawks will descend on Pittsburgh, PA to wrap up the pre-break schedule. Normally, this would feel like a pretty big game with about as much star power as any one NHL game can manufacture. But given that it’s on the second of a back-to-back, and the game before a break that everyone seems desperate to get to, this feels more like something to just get out of the way.

SO COLD, SO COLD: Arctic Ice Hockey
Nothing like a rare four-day break to illustrate how empty our lives are without Hawks hockey. So I’m pretty primed for this one, if only to have purpose again. I doubt I’m alone. And the Hawks return from this mini-sabbatical to what is something of a big game, at least in trying to set things right from earlier in the year and maintain the heat on the now understaffed Preds. A lot going on in one night, no?

War On Ice
On Tuesday night the Hawks put 54 shots on goal and not only lost, but were shut out. Tonight they were outshot 44-20 and won 4-2. Hockey is weird. It’s especially weird in the middle part of what often feels like an interminably long 82 game season.
