And so it’s come down to this. Not that we should have been blind-sided by any of this. Following the Game 2 aftermath, it was pretty evident to see that Los Angeles possessed a much more potent offense than their version from last year. It shouldn’t have taken a six goal output to discover that. Perhaps it did to the mouthbreathers that were openly cheering for the Kings to dispense of Anaheim in the previous round but certainly not to anyone who watched them play hockey for more than a few minutes.

Game Time: 8:00PM Central
TV/Radio: NBCSN, TSN (Anglo), RDS (Franco), WGN-AM 720
Help Me Rhonda: The Royal Half, Jewels From The Crown, Battle of California

With a pivotal Game 4 taking place on South Figeuroa later this evening, the question of this series has become can the Hawks generate enough secondary scoring to match that of the Kings, and thus finding a way to stem the tide of the Kings’ lethal second line. Or is Jonathan Toews basically going to have to do all of this by himself?

Unlike many of us who are utterly clueless after High School, Mark T. Carter knew that from very early on that he wanted to become a Navy SEAL. After graduating from boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, Carter went on to Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training where more than half of the class will not finish. He was given the nickname “Badger” after beating a fellow SEAL in a wrestling match who stood a foot taller than him. After graduating, Carter would quickly move up the ranks serving in both Afghanistan and Iraq. His specialty would be communications, keeping everyone involved in a mission in constant contact, a highly important position

Carter was killed in combat on an undisclosed mission on December 11th, 2007. At his funeral service, Carter earned third Bronze Star in addition to his others along with a Joint Service Commendation Medal with “V” for valor.

I hope everyone gets to spend Memorial Day with someone they love, be good. And to everyone who has or is currently serving, our thanks to you.

big-boi

For all of the accolades that OutKast and specifically the mercurial Andre 3000 have gotten throughout their career (as evidenced by the fact that “Hey Ya” is still getting airplay across many different formats of terrestrial radio over 10 years after its release), there’s a reasonable case to be made that the true genius behind OutKast was the more grounded Big Boi. And given his recent output, he’s making a strong argument in his own favor.

You know what’s weird? This is the first game this series where the Hawks have had the upper hand in possession, in terms of Corsi. You could make an argument that for most of this, they were pretty much where they needed to be. But that was the story when the PK was a sure thing. It most certainly isn’t now. That was the story when the Hawks didn’t make boneheaded mistakes or get bad bounces. They did tonight for sure. It’s why they find themselves trailing this series. It’s also probably why they don’t have any reason to panic. Hockey can be weird. It get weirder when you can’t kill the penalties you take, for whatever reason.

Let’s do it:
