We're Coming Out…On That Dirty Boulevard (Again): Game 3 Roadwatch At Sheffield's
Yeah, you might still be nursing a hangover from your Derby party — if people still have those. But a Sunday afternoon calls for beers and BBQ….and playoff hockey of course.
So we’ll be at Sheffield’s Sunday for Game 3 against the Wild. There’s going to be a few specials on Two Brothers and Lagunitas beer ($20 buckets of Outlaw, $4 pints of Lagunitas and Two Brothers.. maybe more), and I don’t see how you can resist that. With the game at 2, you can even time it to miss out on any Cubs pregame crowd, and scare the shit out of them when they return after that game!
Come on out, these have been a blast so far this year.

Yes, it’s only been one game. But it’s started already . And if the Hawks make a long run out of this spring (and summer, hopefully), then this is going to get ceaselessly tiresome. It already has in some respects. And that’s the “flat” storyline.

After all the buildup of waiting for the playoffs, we now get to wait 2 more nights before we get to see the puck drop on Madison again. Now, we could use that time to actually get some work done, maybe spend time with loved ones. But that’s not really going to happen, is it?

Willpower: Blackhawks 2 – Wild 1
In somewhat of a role-reversal, I couldn’t fucking sit still or stop swearing tonight (OK, I always swear a lot) and Fels was cool as a… well, not a cucumber. Maybe a zucchini? Are those cool? Some sort of squash or gourd, I guess. Are squashes and gourds even mutually exclusive? I don’t get horticulture.
While the Blackhawks didn’t make it easy for themselves, they never really seemed like they were getting outplayed. The early goal from the Wild (from Clutterbuck on a softie… because of course that would happen) didn’t inspire much confidence but it wasn’t a dagger in the hearts of the UC either. The Wild scored, we groaned but anyone who thought the Hawks would be shutout for the game was kidding themselves. The Hawks didn’t panic. They came back to their game and they found a way to score one on the advantage and then take it in a longish OT. 15.
