We’re gonna take the holiday off too, so let’s discuss all the things you can watch during that stretch and then I’ll leave you to discuss whatever you want. Someone should include a live play-by-play of their uncle passing out amongst the cats or something.
Bulls v. Knicks – Basketball in the Garden is pretty cool, I enjoyed the one time I went. At least in the old Garden. I don’t know what it’s like with the remodeled one. I’m told the Knicks are good this year, even though I feel like Jason Kidd is halfway to the state of choosing poorly which chalice Jesus drank from. You can’t ride the Raymond Felton train forever. Unless he’s playing against Dee Brown. Am I right Illini fans?! UP TOP!
International soccer – There’s not really a marquee game to find anywhere. The Spanish and Italian leagues go into a holiday break after this. Roma v. Milan is probably your best bet. I’ll be suffering through the Pool again.
College Basketball – Y’know, if you’re sick in the head.
Bulls v. Hawks – Basically, this will be fun to have the J1G tweeting about the Bulls again. That’s Jason Goff to you. Follow him @jason1goff if you don’t already, even tough he’s now in the Dirty South.
Falcons v. Lions – Actually the J1G will probably have to tweet about the Dirty Birds more. But it’s NFL on a Saturday. Remember when that was like a regular thing? I saw a Saturday NFL game once at the old Soldier Field. It was the end of the Wannstedt Era and a crappy Bears team was playing an awful Chargers team. And I have to say it was an absolute blast. There’s something about a nothing-NFL game in the cold between two nothing teams. Dave Krieg threw for the 3 TDs. Ryan Wetnight caught one. Awesome.
NFL – I already know that Bears-Cardinals is going to be a miserable experience that will harm several organs that will shorten my life, and yet I’m powerless to do anything about it. Anyway, Seahawks-49ers at night should be pretty tasty.
There ain’t shit on shit. It’s only a matter of time before this veil of not having anything on Christmas Eve falls by the wayside. We’ve had NFL games on during the day. I guess this is when you’re supposed to talk to loved ones. See how that goes. I’ll be at the bar.
OH MY GOD SO MUCH BASKETBALL YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT! The Bulls host the Rockets, but that’s only on ESPN not ABC. But still, Durant and Lebron is going to be pretty sweet.
Anyway, you all have a wonderful Holiday. We’ll catch you on the flipside.
