    The first period of this game was pretty great, right? It was just about everything you’d want from a rivalry* game. It was two teams going back and forth, trading chances, and somehow the Hawks ended up a goal. The second was actually a boring period where all the animosity and anger left.. until the Blues scored. Then in the third, the Hawks acted like a cat with a mouse. They toyed with it enough to border on torture and then finally put it away. The Blues, as good as they might be (they aren’t really), still seem a step behind from an elite team.

    With the annual Circus Trip now in the rearview mirror, the Hawks will get a brief two games back on West Madison before heading out east for another four game trip. And there will be no respite in coming off of two victories against Pacific contenders in the forms of the Ducks and Kings, as the Hawks face a Blues squad in their usual December slot just ahead of the Hawks in the Central Division standings.

    The Easter Bunny at Menlo Park Is More Convincing: In Lou We Trust

    In what is already their 846th back to back of barely half a season, the Hawks will traverse the Five Boroughs and head right across both rivers to Newark to meet the Devils. The blizzard conditions that are now news because it’s hitting New York despite the fact that it just dumped over a foot of snow here three days ago in the part of the country that doesn’t count will almost assuredly be blamed for what will be a low turnout, as has been the case since the Devils moved to The Rock. And based on the type of game the Devils play, they can’t really be blamed.
