Everything Else

Fun note. We saved all these questions on a Google document, and it’s all under the “Drive” menu. Every time I click it, I just keep saying, “Hey, kids, where are you? Nobody tells you what to do….” I also just told you that because REM references piss off McClure to no end. Anywho, let’s keep this train a’rollin’.

Today’s question also comes from Laarmer:

Crawford. Good or bad?

I feel like we’re going to be pretty exasperated writing about Crawford this year. I just feel  it. And let me tell you why.

No time for love Dr. Jones. Let’s keep it moving.

What’s the best and worse case scenario for the sexual tension between Q and Stan? Who has more pull at this point? -AhnFire

As you all know, this is one of my favorite subjects to write about. And this year it could be even more dynamic, though doing less damage to the team. There should be a glow that lasts right up until the first three-game losing streak, after all.

Everything Else

Ok, quick announcement. I honestly thought up until last night that camp started today. And then it struck me as weird that I wasn’t seeing any tweets about South Bend, or about camps anywhere. Only then did I bother to actually look it up again. So it’s next week. Huh. Well what do you know?

So because I was all ready to work on an issue, there actually will be a Bears Preview (sorta) edition of The Indian tomorrow. Keep an eye out.

Right, more preview! More asbestos! More asbestos!

How will the team handle the elderly over a full season (Hossa, Rosival, handzus) – Mighty Mike D

Everything Else

Hello my pretties. I’m back from a brief hiatus, and I’ve returned to bathe in a stream of contract extensions! Oh the paper cuts! Anyway, it’s time to keep rolling with our preview of the upcoming season (can it really be less than a month?) So let’s not waste any more time, yes? Yes. Indeed. How so. Indubitably.

If, as Hawks fans, you could pick one player to make the leap to becoming a better player, whose leap would be most beneficial to the team? -Why?

Everything Else

While I wasn’t paying attention, Hawks single tickets went on sale today. And it allows us to make fun of something that might not even be going on, which is fans complaining that they’re being priced out by what the Hawks are charging. Most people get it, though from my post outside Gate 3 during the season, I hear this a lot more than we do at the blog and on our twitter.

Hey, we’d all like to go to as many games as possible, and even finding tickets for that is hard, much less being able to afford them. But I think we’re all familiar with the idea of supply and demand. And after years and years of listening to people bitch that Cubs tickets cost this much and they win this much less, it’s hard to argue with the bang for your buck you get out of the money spent on Hawks tickets.

Steve Gerrard Gerrard! He’ll pass the ball 40 yards! He’s big and he’s fucking hard!  STEVE GERRARD GERRARD!

Yeah, I could have put a picture of a player from a club that has any glimmer of hope of winning the Premier League this season. Or even finishing in the top four. But I didn’t, because I can. And because Steven Gerrard is all that is man (except when he really wants to hear Phil Collins at the nightclub). So there.

And yeah, I don’t have to be writing a soccer post today. But it’s my blog and I’m gonna. Because while some revel in preseason NFL in anticipation of the big kickoff in three weeks, while others just sit around and watch the wheel in the sky keep on turnin’ until October 1st, tomorrow is a big day for a minority of us with the start of the English Premier League.

Keep the line movin’ again…

what do you see as the single biggest obstacle to the Hawks repeating? – Mighty Mike D

Fatigue. That sounds arrogant, but honestly with the shortened offseason, the Olympics, and the general toll that playoff run takes on a team, it’s hard to envision anyone navigating it unless you’re a super team. Realignment softens the blow, because the Hawks aren’t going to have to scrape for a playoff spot this time (I hope) and probably can manage the division pretty easily unless the Blues don’t fall apart (which I still think they will). Other than that, the Kings will still be waiting.

Everything Else

I’ll answer as many of these as I can before I pass out. Pick up where I left off tomorrow. Let’s kick this pig, Captain Dodge! Leave her squealin’ from the feelin’!

This may be a toughie: All time favorite bar in Chicago?
…and maybe a little less tough: All time LEAST favorite bar in Chicago. -fromheretoinfirmay

That is a toughie. I live at the Huttenbar here in Lincoln Square, but that’s too easy. Jake’s in Lincoln Park used to be a blast, but isn’t quite the same these days. Map Room during the week is a good time, but not on weekends. Let’s go with the Long Room, only because the guys who own it are the balls.

Worst? Barleycorn. It might not even be close.

Everything Else

We tried this last August, and it actually turned out to be pretty fun. So let’s try it again, because God knows there’s fuck all else to talk about. Leave your questions about anything in the comments, and I’ll pop back in through out the week to answer what I can…or what I want. Though these days, those things intersect.

Fire away.

Everything Else

As we head off into the weekend here, and with nothing on or off the ice to discuss, I’m just going to spill out whatever is floating around this shaved dome of mine.

-I’d like to begin these proceedings by saying fuck Tiger Woods (sorry, George). Not because he’s a raging asshole who can’t stop sticking his piss pump wherever it will go. I don’t give a shit, and neither should you. Famous men will do that, especially famous athletes, and probably all of your favorites do. Don’t care that he was married, as I have pretty liberal views on the whole monogamy thing anyway (another talk for another time). Just don’t care, Jay Cutler (or Jake Utler).
