It’s playoff tradition around these parts. For those who may be new to our little thing here, John Druce was a middling third liner for the Caps in the ’89-’90 season. But then the playoffs hit, and Druce from out of nowhere came up with 14 goals in 15 playoff games after scoring only 8 in 45 regular season games.
So who do you think is going to emerge from the dark and be the talk of the town?
We don’t have a poll we can do like at the old place, and you know how we love to poll you. So discuss in the comments.
For me, the past two years I’ve taken Viktor Stalberg and really only had two helpers on the two OT winners last year to show for it. So this year I’m going to flip to his linemate Bryan Bickell. Bickell has been effective the past two years, while not being dominant all the time. But this has been his finest season, and in the playoffs things get muddy and a big body like Bicks can shine. Oh, it also happens to be a free agent year, which might just play a factor?
Who you got? Michael Frolik has had some oddly dominating playoff games the past two years. Stalberg is also playing for a contract. Will Andrew Shaw’s nose for the net carry over this spring? Maybe Michal Handzus? Anyone else? Who you got?
