So I didn’t get through the whole Central before the season started. Whoops. There were things to do. Luckily all we have left are the two teams that are most certainly going to be the also-rans in this division, unless Peter Laviolette can find leftover Trotz elixir and sprinkle it on his Preds. Am I half-assing this? Yes, of course. But no more so than the Jets spent building their team, so I don’t feel too bad about it.

Extra Skater… I think that’s dead? BummerOh Christ. I guess I have to start writing this stuff again, huh? Very early apologies if I suck at it. I haven’t really been preparing for this. That kind of applies to my entire life though, doesn’t it? Even our goddamn editor has changed. NONE OF THESE BUTTONS MAKE ANY SENSE ANYMORE!!!
Sadly, that sort of also applies to how the Hawks seemed to approach their opening game as well, eh? (I still segue like a champ). In the opening moments, it seemed things would be even steven (stephen?)… but as the game progressed, things tilted more and more towards the Dallas side. And if anyone knows anything about me.. I hate all things Dallas. While Keith was able to grab the first goal of the season/game, it switched to all things Lone Star in the second and for a good part of the third.
One of the many many penalties, more on that later, ended up bringing things back to even before league sanctioned silliness gave Chicago a second point. By now, you should hopefully know how this works…

Here we go. The curtain raiser on the sometimes confusing, sometimes frustrating, sometimes slog, 82-game story of the 2014-2015 season. And while the Hawks certainly have some new parts to show and some questions to answer, the excitement will mostly be contained on the other side of the ice.

I do this every year, basically so you lot have cudgel with which to beat me over the head in April. I’m here for you people. So let’s get to it.
Hawks Points Total – 108. They are capable of 115 or 116 but I doubt they escape the injury bug and there’s always the March doldrums they seem to go through that limits their output. Where that puts them in the division? Probably 2nd as I’m guessing the Blues go all out to avoid the Hawks in the 1st round (putting them in prime position to lose to Dallas in the 1st round). Which almost certainly means another tussle with Minnesota. Fun times!
