It’s a loose connection. Wild-Wildlings. But do I really need much of an excuse to post a picture of Rose Leslie? Didn’t think so.
You’re probably tuning in tonight to see who the Hawks will get in the next round. You also may not have caught all of or any of the Minnesota-Colorado series as you were caught up with what the Hawks were doing and you may not be as depraved as us here in watching every single minute of hockey you can. Well, I’m here to help!
It’s funny in a way, as a lot of people were terrified of Colorado due to the regular season success the Avs had against the Hawks. Well, the Hawks only gained one more point against the Wild this season and yet no one is worried about them. But none of that really matters now and what does is how these two teams are going.
The big fear with Colorado is of course Semyon Varlamov. The Wild haven’t been too scared recently, piercing him for three goals in the past two games and four in Game 1. His one standout performance was Game 3, but Darcy Kuemper matched him step for step and Mikael Granlund got the winner in a 1-0 win in overtime.
It has only been a few days since we last saw the Hawks but with the constant action around the playoffs and three exciting game 7’s coming up tonight it feels like it has been ages since we’ve seen the men of four feathers take the ice. And since we won’t find out who the Hawks play next nor when that game may be until later tonight, we’re left with a lot of time on our hands. You could go through the comment section of Puck Daddy and find all the simpletons that don’t get the idea behind the eulogies… or you could try and take down the work of someone like Herman Melville.

On yet another off day, and a Tuesday at that, it’s more than likely that an infusion of energy would be more than welcome. Fortunately the band Torche and bearded frontman Steve Brooks are more than up for the task.
Looks like we’re going to have a few days to kill and clean up whatever’s lying around after Sunday’s snuffing of River Scum. So just some points I wanted to get through in the wake.
-I didn’t really have any numbers to back up just how good Duncan Keith was yesterday. I checked them out today. Thanks to Ryan Lambert’s “What We Learned” on Puck Daddy as well for pointing this out. Keith had a 60.6% Corsi-percentage in a game where his team didn’t come close to winning that battle. Even Toews got his head kicked in in terms of possession. Keith’s Relative Corsi Percentage was +27.3%.
Interestingly enough, Keith saw most of his time with Saad, Kruger, and Shaw, and it’s no coincidence that that line had its best game of the series, culminating in the last two goals. Perhaps this was a ploy by Q to get the bottom of the roster going. Or maybe that’s just how it worked out.
Keith also was deployed against Tarasenko and Schwartz. It says they combined for five shots. I certainly don’t remember any of them so I’m guessing they all came on the PP. And look, that line didn’t score, and the Blues are done playing hockey for the season. Easy how that works, no?
