The Red Wings are one of the best shot suppression teams in the NHL and they definitely showed that in their Friday night meeting with the Blackhawks. Chicago struggled with virtually every part of their game in every part of the ice. The 4-1 loss to Detroit was completely deserved.

Mom’s Spaghetti: Winging It In Motown, Abel To YzermanAnd so it begins anew. Not so much the Original Six rivalry that mostly evaporated prior to the Wings finally getting their wish and moving to the Eastern Conference, but more the lamentation of that move and the longing for a rivalry that never really lived up to its own billing in the last 25 years in the first place save for a couple of blips on the radar, and one very emphatic punctuation mark ending it in 2013. Now, a visit to Detroit is just another date on the calendar, and the only time the Hawks will visit the husk of the Joe this year.

Angry At Numbers – Brad Religion Edition
After today’s morning skate and yet another line jumbling putting Brad Richards on the fourth line, coach Joel Quenneville remarked “It really doesn’t matter what line he’s on. We expect consistency”.
Fortunately for Quenneville, there are a few numbers out there that Richards has accrued to this point in the season that might indicate just what kind of player he’s getting.

Some Page 8s From The Weekend
These are a couple Page 8s I’ve done in the past couple issues of The Indian. For those who don’t know, Page 8 is where I let loose and just do something comedic/stupid (mostly stupid). This is the kind of madness you’re missing if you don’t get our program.

Don’t Say The Name, Vic: Lightning 2 – Hawks 2 (Hawks win Spin The Bottle)
Tonight shaped up as a pretty good test for the Hawks. There is no hotter team in the league than Tampa, and they are considered an Eastern favorite (Eastern Favorite is an excellent Pho place in Uptown). They have as much speed as the Hawks can boast, and a Vezina finalist in net. Considering how the Hawks had done against this season’s glitterati (hint: not all that well), even though there are no such things as big games in the second week of November you did want to see the Hawks get this one. They did, and looked pretty damn good doing it.
